- Colin Braun, Tom Blomqvist finish third in the TireRack.com Battle on the Bricks from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway
- #93 trio of Nick Yelloly, Renger van der Zande and Japanese driver Kaku Ohta finish fifth
- Acura narrows the fight in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship manufacturers' title chase to just seven points with one race remaining
Acura Meyer Shank Racing with Curb Agajanian continued their charge in the second half of the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, scoring their fourth-consecutive podium finish of 2025 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Tom Blomqvist and Colin Braun drove their #60 Acura ARX-06 from the rear of the GTP class field at the start of the race to an impressive third place finish in the TireRack.com Battle on the Bricks. This is the duo's third podium finish of the year, following a win at Watkins Glen International and a second-place finish to start the season at the Rolex 24 at Daytona.
Blomqvist and Braun currently sit second in the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup standings, just three points off the championship lead going into the final 10-hour race at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
The sister #93 Acura ARX-06 started fifth and finished fifth in today's six-hour race, but Nick Yelloly, Renger van der Zande and Honda Formula Dream Project (HFDP) graduate Kaku Ohta spent the majority of the race in podium position until a late-race yellow shuffled them towards the rear of the field.
Ohta, contesting his final race of the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship for the team, scored his best result of his three-race outing with today's fifth place finish at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The Japanese driver set the fastest lap of all of the Acura drivers during the race at a 1:17.272 around the 2.439-mile IMS road course. The HRC development driver made his mark in his brief outing in the GTP class, pulling off daring moves on veterans like Nick Tandy in today's race.
Today's podium finish is the fourth-in-a-row for the Acura Meyer Shank Racing team—following wins at the Detroit Grand Prix and Watkins Glen and a further podium finish at Road America. The impressive run of results has Acura sitting just seven points behind in the manufacturers' championship hunt (2,804-2,797) with one race still to run.

Quotes
Tom Blomqvist (#60 Acura Meyer Shank Racing with Curb Agajanian Acura ARX-06) Finished third: "Obviously solid result for the guys especially after starting last. It's a shame we couldn't win the race! We had a bit of luck fall our way today, but in the end our luck wasn't going to keep going. There was a yellow at the end that saved the two cars ahead—it added a bit of an energy buffer for them and I had to settle for third. I'm very happy, it's still a great result and good for the manufacturers' championship."
Colin Braun (#60 Acura Meyer Shank Racing with Curb Agajanian Acura ARX-06) Finished third: "In the end it was a great result. The guys did a great job on the strategy today. They nailed it two times to catapult us up the field. Great job by everyone at Acura MSR and HRC. We closed the gap in the manufacturers' championship also—which was super important for everyone on the team. Really happy with the P3 result and we'll take this to Petit and close out the season on a high note."
Nick Yelloly (#93 Acura Meyer Shank Racing with Curb Agajanian Acura ARX-06) Finished fifth: "P5 in the end. I actually had a lot of fun out there. The start was a lot of fun, we went from fifth to second and felt like we were having a very good race. A little bittersweet as we were running at the front of the field for the majority of the race but the main thing is that we closed the manufacturer championship down to just seven points. And the #60 car got another podium; another great result for the team and HRC. Onwards to Road Atlanta where I feel like if we work together as we have been, we should be in a good position."
Renger van der Zande (#93 Acura Meyer Shank Racing with Curb Agajanian Acura ARX-06) Finished fifth: "I think we can be happy. The mission was to stay in front of the Porsches and close the gap in the manufacturers' championship, which we did. It's never nice to sacrifice a good result in the race when you could have gotten more out of it. I think we nailed it at the end with the fuel save and strategy. Nick at the start was amazing, Kaku was amazing as well. And I was able to get some positions back too. Now we go to Petit Le Mans and are ready for a good battle."
Kaku Ohta (#93 Acura Meyer Shank Racing with Curb Agajanian Acura ARX-06) Finished fifth: "Our main target for this race was to finish in front of the Porsches as a team to help us in the manufacturers' championship. We had a chance to win the race and the last full course yellow really hurt us, which was similar to the position we were in at Watkins Glen. But this is IMSA and sometimes we win and sometimes we don't. Our execution in the race was almost perfect, our team did a great job with the car and Nick and Renger did a great job in the race, so I am happy with that. I felt like my driving was much better than it was at Watkins Glen. I made some overtakes and my pace was okay. I had a lot more confidence in the braking, and that allowed me to make some of those moves—like the one on Tandy on the restart. I can see that I've been getting better and better with each race this season, so I'm very thankful for the opportunity that HRC has given me this year in IMSA."
David Salters (President, Honda Racing Corporation USA): "Firstly, I would like to give our thoughts and prayers to Robert Clarke and his family, Robert sadly passed away this weekend.
"Robert was a driving force at Honda Performance Development—he was literally badge #1 at HPD in 1993 and ultimately served as the third president of the organization. He and all of our other magnificent presidents built what is now Honda Racing Corporation USA into a world class racing organization. He is one of the giants whose shoulders we stand on today as HRC US.
"From a personal note, when I became President, I felt I was completely unqualified for leading such a prestigious organization. It weighed heavily on me. Robert, along with all the other presidents, coached and mentored me. It was important to him and he freely gave his time and advice at a local restaurant at lunch times to educate and advise me. I am forever grateful for this as it gave me the tools and the confidence to grow into the heavy responsibility of leading Honda's US racing organization and empowering our magnificent associates to show the challenging spirit of Honda through our racing. Thank you, Robert, you were an inspiration and a brilliant mentor. On behalf of all our racing associates past and present, we will miss you dearly.
"With this in mind, today we used this challenging sprit to finish on the podium again this season in IMSA Prototype GTP with our #60 Acura ARX-06. This puts us within seven points of our nearest rival and means we go to Road Atlanta to fight for the manufacturers' championship. Bringing together MSR and HRC at this pinnacle level this year, and having the challenge of running car #93 against world class competition, we are now incredibly in a position to challenge for the championship. This is down to the consummate skill, effort and sheer drive of all our associates and drivers. I salute them all. Stunning achievement in year one. Game on."
