Adaptive Cruise Control

ILX 2020 Adaptive Cruise Control

Conventional cruise control has always been welcome on long highway trips. But it’s of little use on a daily urban commute. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)53 changes that. You can set a desired speed while maintaining a set time interval between you and the car detected ahead — allowing you to enjoy the benefits of cruise control in light traffic conditions.

  • While cruising, engage the ACC and it prompts you to select a short, medium, long or extra-long interval to the vehicle detected ahead.

  • Once speed is set (between 25 and 90 MPH), you can increase or decrease speed with the steering-wheel controls. Your speed setting is revealed on the Multi-Information Display.

  • At speeds below the set speed, the ACC maintains the set interval from the car ahead by modulating the throttle and applying moderate braking where appropriate.
