Suspension Systems

Acura TLX Drivetrain

Comfort and control distinguish genuine sport sedans from the rest. Both characteristics were top of mind when Acura engineers developed the front and rear suspensions on the TLX.

  • For the front-wheel drive P-AWS® models, the front MacPherson struts have been tuned to reduce torque steer and distracting steering wheel vibration.
  • Both the front strut and multi-link rear systems are mounted on separate sub-frames, connected to the body by hydraulic mounts. This solution noticeably improves ride comfort.
  • The rear suspension on SH-AWD® models, plus the rear sub-frame mounting points, are tuned specifically to accommodate the additional forces generated from the driven rear wheels.
  • The Amplitude Reactive Dampers feature one internal spring to absorb road irregularities, like potholes and expansion joints and a second stiffer spring to control larger body movements during hard cornering.
