The highly capable, road-hugging TLX prefers pavement.
- The Road Departure Mitigation system uses a camera to identify lane markers such as painted lane lines, Botts’ Dots and cat eye markers.
- When the system detects the TLX is about to leave the road, it warns the driver with an MID warning message, an amber head-up warning and a tightening of the seat belt.
- The system then uses the active steering function of the Lane Keeping Assist system to guide the TLX back into its detected lane. If it determines that steering assistance with not suffice, it will apply braking to help keep the TLX from leaving the roadway altogether.
