Tuned on Germany’s famed Nürburgring track, the 7-passenger SUV is getting rave reviews for its powerful engine and sporty handling.
Acura solidifies its position as a safety leader and innovator in the luxury segment with the 2017 MDX’s NHTSA 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s New Car Assessment Program. Specifically, the MDX earned five stars in the Front Crash and Side Crash tests. The Acura ACE™ body structure design played the primary role in achieving this level of safety. The Multi-View Rear Camera, available Forward Collision Warning system, and Vehicle Stability Assist™ and Lane Departure Warning systems were also taken into account.
The MDX joins the RDX, RLX, TLX and ILX, each of which has a 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score from the NHTSA making Acura the only luxury brand awarded NHTSA 5-Star Overall Vehicle Ratings across all its model lines.
The 2017 MDX joins the Acura ILX, RLX and RDX to earn a 2015 TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+) from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). All Acura models earned a top score of SUPERIOR in its front crash prevention test thanks to the available AcuraWatch™ suite of advanced safety and driver assistive technologies.

“After a spirited romp on a twisty section of Mulholland Highway in the 2014 Acura MDX, 2014 Infiniti QX60 and 2013 Lexus RX 350 F Sport, one of Edmunds' more opinionated editors hopped out of the Acura and pronounced: "Yep, no doubt, the MDX wins this test.'”
