Top Overall Safety Rating from the NHTSA

Acura solidifies its position as a safety leader and innovator in the luxury segment with the 2016 RLX’s 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Specifically, the RLX earned five stars in the Front Crash, Side Crash and Rollover tests. The Acura ACE™ body structure design played the primary role in achieving this level of safety. The Multi-View Rear Camera, available Forward Collision Warning system, and Vehicle Stability Assist™ and Lane Departure Warning systems were also taken into account.

The 2016 RLX joins the rest of the Acura line up to earn a 2015 TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+) from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).* TSP+ is the highest safety rating designated by IIHS and Acura is the first luxury brand to earn a 2015 TSP+ rating for its entire model line. They also earned a top score of SUPERIOR in its front crash prevention test thanks to the AcuraWatch™ suite of advanced safety and driver assistive technologies available on all current Acura models.

* IIHS Top Safety Pick+ claim applies to 2016 model year vehicles except TLX where only the 2015 TLX has been tested.

“In regular traffic doing regular suburban driving you will like the RLX. So will your passengers. Everyone who rode in the back seat commented positively, all unsolicited comments by the way.”

“…if you just get in and drive it around like a normal car, you're likely to be pleasantly surprised at how nicely it functions as a roomy luxury sedan.”

“The 14-speaker sound system is designed by Krell, a company that lacks the brand-recognition (read: salivated at by audio nerds) of something as tawdry as Bose but quietly designs some of the highest-end and most expensive audio equipment on Earth.”
