Acura/ ELS Premium Surround Sound System
Technology PackageGrammy® award-winning recording engineer and producer, Elliot Scheiner (ELS®32), helped design the ILX audio system to reproduce music the way it’s heard in the recording studio. The 10-speaker system can reproduce the 5.1 surround sound of DVD-A discs, while Dolby® 5 Pro Logic® II signal processing can extract 6-channel surround sound from 2-channel digital sources, such as the 15GB hard disc drive, CDs, XM® Radio4, USB7-connected iPod8, flash drive containing MP3, WMA®6 or AAC music files, or Bluetooth® Audio. Most iPhones with the Pandora®45 Internet Radio application, when connected by USB, enable Pandora operation using audio system controls. Almost all audio system functions can be performed by Voice Recognition.
Navigation w/ Voice Recognition
Technology PackagePart of the Technology Package, the Acura Navigation System10 features an eight-inch screen mounted high in the center control panel for easy visibility, which also serves as the monitor for the Multi-view Rear Camera. Using the interface dial or the Voice Recognition system, you can enter an address or have the system find a location from its vast hard drive destination database. The screen will plot your path on the map and show special displays to guide you through freeway ramps, interchanges and forks in the road. The system can show you nearby gas stations, ATMs and other points of interest and even display Zagat® Survey restaurant reviews.
AcuraLink Real-Time Traffic and Weather
Technology PackageTo help you plan your journeys, this easy-to-use proprietary data network uses the XM® Radio4 communications interface to provide on-screen traffic and weather information35 that‘s easy to read and access. If a route is set, the system can automatically alert you of possible weather delays and can even reroute you to avoid traffic congestion. Traffic and weather data services are offered separately on a subscription basis for a nominal fee. The AcuraLink® system features a preprogrammed feature guide, dealer appointment reminders, and direct communication with your dealer.
Bluetooth HandsFreeLink
Standard FeatureThe Bluetooth®11 HandsFreeLink® system works with many Bluetooth®-enabled cell phones to let you receive and initiate phone calls through the audio system without ever taking your hands off the wheel. The Multi-Information Display can show the caller’s name or number, while the center panel display can show reception and battery strength, depending on the phone. Compatible phones with the MPA protocol can even read text (SMS) messages through the audio system and let you send one of six replies without touching your phone. A one-time pairing process enables your Acura to communicate wirelessly with the phone, and up to six different phones can be paired with it at a time. After the initial pairing, a phone can be operated through the vehicle audio system without ever leaving your pocket or purse.
Integrated Motor Assist IMA
Hybrid modelsThe ILX Hybrid is powered by the Integrated Motor Assist (IMA)® System which has been designed on the premise that much of an engine’s power is only used during acceleration or on steep inclines. Thus, the system incorporates a 1.5-liter, 8-valve, i-VTEC® 4-cylinder gasoline engine along with an electric motor. The small, efficient engine operates alone when cruising at a steady speed while the electric motor assists the engine when additional power is required.
